3 Reasons To Outsource Your Direct Mailing Today

Direct mailing can be a great way to connect with your customers!

Done correctly, you can achieve a high ROI, as well as giving people something physical that they can connect with your company. The whole world isn’t just email and Facebook, after all.

When you plan a direct mail campaign, there’s a lot to think about, including how you’re going to send out 5,000 postcards that need to be manually printed, labeled and stamped. It’s a serious problem, but your 3rd party logistics company has an answer.

Direct Mailing Made Easy

You probably think of shipping and returns when you think about your fulfillment service, but packages aren’t the only things they can fulfill. Direct mail is an easy leap for your 3PL. They’ve probably done lots of mailers, you definitely should ask about it if you’re interested in direct mailing.

Here are three good reasons to turn over the wheel:

  • Faster execution. One of the biggest problems with DIY direct mail is that it can take a very long time to finish a campaign. You can buy all the right equipment to automate your mailing, but you probably won’t get enough new business out of one campaign to justify the money you spent automating your mailer.Your 3PL has all of that stuff already, they just need some basic information and a digital copy of the mail piece and they can have it out the door in no time.
  • Gorgeous, professional grade mailers. No matter what you’re selling, your 3PL’s lettershop will make it shine. With options like high gloss paper, or even printing on materials like silk, and poly bagging to keep it looking great when it arrives at its destination, your team has the chops to create a truly impressive presentation.
  • Fewer bad addresses. One in six Americans moves each year, leaving potentially hundreds or thousands of bad addresses in any given database you might buy. A good direct mail 3PL won’t stop there. Instead, they’ll push the database of your choice through the National Change of Address directory to give you the most accurate and up-to-date addresses possible. This step saves you lots of money and frustration down the line.

Ultimately, you want to do a direct mailing campaign because you need to reach a certain group of people at their homes. It’s a highly effective method, even in the age of digital, but you may need more help than you think. Don’t tie up your personnel, physical space or time for weeks when you can have your direct mail outsourced to your favorite 3PL and have it done in no time.
