Three Ways A 3PL Will Bolster Your Customer Service Capabilities

If you’re in ecommerce, you’ve got competition.

No matter what you’re selling or who you’re selling it to, there are dozens of other companies out there that are willing to provide your customers with similar products. Being concerned about the competition is a natural part of business, but if you’re just focused on comparing prices, you’re missing out on the bigger picture.

Even though price is a strong determining factor in whether or not someone makes a purchase, excellent customer service is a key factor as well. In fact, American Express found that customers are willing to pay at least 14% more on average with a company that has great customer service. In addition, 46% of the respondents said that they tell others about companies they’ve had a great customer service experience with.

How can a 3PL help you get more happy customers? By taking a big part of the sales processes out of your in-house responsibilities, you and your staff can make customer service a top priority.

A 3PL improves your customer’s experience by:

Delivering products on time, every time – Customers expect to get what they ordered in a timely manner. A 3PL company helps make that happen. With their wide network of resources, shipping discounts and tried and true channels, 3PLs are able to make your customer experience more efficient and, therefore, more satisfying to the customer.

Reducing your overhead costs – Outsourcing with 3PL means that your in-house costs for warehousing, supplies and labor are all eliminated. While this is good for your bottom line, it’s also great news for your customers. You can invest those extra resources in other types of technology, supplies and labor that improve your company and benefit your customers.

Increasing your product capacity. With a 3PL on your team, you don’t have to worry about seasonal shifts in your business – and any worries you have about storing a new category of products is out the window. They’ll take care of all of that so that you can confidentially add seasonal specials, new products and an increased product line to customers. This makes your company all the more attractive to potential buyers.

Customers don’t just want great products – they want to know that they will be taken care of and they are getting the very best. 3PLs offer expertise and insight from their wide breadth of experience in packaging, shipping and customer service. By working with them, you can put your resources back into taking care of your customers and improving your standing with them.
